Description
What We Do-

We're committed to promoting the Game of Baseball! We promote the game and the players through our Championship Events. By providing teams and their supporters with high quality venues and well managed tournaments, teams compete with the best amateur baseball clubs in the Nation. 

This will be a Stay to play event, any player outside of 60 miles will need to stay in the host hotels! The Buy out for the stay to play is $175

Please be Prepared to play Friday morning!

There will be a few changes to this year's event. We will be adding a 17/18u. Also we are changing the age eligibility dates. We will move towards the international age limits and use birth year vs a cut off date. Whatever age your player will turn in 2025 is what they will be eligible to play. Birth years and age will be below

Tryout Dates and Times

Registration will close May 18th. 

If you can not make the tryout please do not ask for exceptions. Participants traveling more than 75 miles away, may arrange video evaluation with the coach. All Tryouts will be conducted at Grimes Park Desoto and Chisenhall Fields Burleson Texas.

When do I pay the tournament entry fee? 
Payment is due when players are selected after tryouts, Payment is due no later than 5pm May 27th. Players that have not paid by this date will be dropped and alternates will be invited 

Do we supply our own baseballs? 
PPS Will be supplying the baseballs 

Rules

Ages are by birth year. 

whatever age your player will turn in 2025 is the age group that they are eligible for 

We play exclusively by the rules listed on the playpps.com website.
We play all 13u events at 54/80 unless otherwise noted
We do not allow metal cleats on any turf fields or temporary mounds.


Refunds

Once uniform orders for the event have been placed (approximately 45 days before the event date), we will not be able to offer refunds. If for any reason you cannot attend the event after your uniform order has been placed, you will still be able to pick up your items from your coach or arrange for pick-up at a later date from PPS staff.


Awards
Metals will be given to all 1st and 2nd place teams, Team Trophy will also be presented 
All players will receive swag bags. 


Can we bring outside food and coolers?
Yes, participants and fans are allowed to bring outside food and coolers excluding alcohol. Some parks may not allow them. 

Can we bring our pets or comfort animals to the tournament?
NO, you will be asked to leave the premises if you bring pets to a PPS event regardless of the facilities policies. 
PLEASE LEAVE YOUR PETS AT HOME!

Emotional Support animas are not Service dogs and are not permitted in the playing areas.


When are our rosters locked and what do I do if a parents forgets/neglects to sign the waiver prior to the cutoff?
Coaches will be responsible to make the Rosters for this event

Behavior at the events
PPS has a zero tolerance policy towards disrespectful and adverse behavior. Any fan, parent, player or coach will be ejected from the event for adverse behavior towards a tournament official or umpire. 

Where will we play? 
Waxahachie Sports Complex, will add additional parks if needed 

Do I need team insurance?
PPS Will provide the insurance as a secondary insurance policy

RoughRiders Night at the Ballpark. 

All Players will receive a free ticket to the Roughriders game Saturday night August 2nd. 

There will be a pregame parade, a meet and greet with Roughriders and a post game kids run the bases. 

additional tickets can be purchased for $15.

What competitions will your team be participating in?

Coaches will be nominating all players for these games. 

Home Run Derby (max of 3 players Per Team)

Around the Horn Squad (6 players required)

Fastest Man (max of 3 players Per Team)


Infield Around the Horn:

Each team gets two (2) attempts.

The Pitcher will start from the pitching position.

The clock will start when he releases the ball.

The Pitcher will throw to the catcher.

The Catcher must step on Home Plate and then throw to 2nd Baseman

The 2nd Baseman must step on 2nd Base and then throw to the 1st Baseman.

The 1st Baseman must step on 1st Base and then throw to the 3rd Baseman.

The 3rd Baseman must step on 3rd Base and then throw to the Shortstop.

The Shortstop must step on 2nd Base and then throw to the Catcher.

Once the Catcher receives the ball and steps on Home Plate the clock will stop.

Six (6) players per team will be allowed to participate.


Team Home Run Derby:

Each team will be comprised of three players.

The team provides pitcher and balls.

Each player gets 10 outs.

No swing counts as an out.

Swing and a miss is an out.

Anything not hit over the fence/home run line in fair territory is an out.

Once the batter is in the batter’s box the pitcher cannot take warm-up pitches. All warm-up pitches must be before the batter gets in the box.


Fastest Man:

Each contestant will start at home plate with their lead foot on the plate. Time will start on the official’s mark. The contestant will run the bases with time stopping when the contestant crosses the plate. Each contestant will get 1 attempt.


In the event of a tie, we will utilize a coin toss

There is no cost to participate.

Winners will be awarded prizes following the competition.

One entry allowed per team/per event.

Winners will be announced on Friday on all PPS Social Media Pages .
